Now I am laughing at the small world it is. I just watched Rhett and Linc Good Mythical Morning on the making of the chiropractic commercial. Their commercials are purposely awkward but eye catching.
It is creepy to see the COS certificates on the wall.

The scale is there but how you use it is something else. If you google emotional scale you will find many other authors of scales quite similar. And have you done some "book one" you have seen it yourself. With use of EFT you can discover it on yourself.

Darwin has a basic book exploring human emotions. There are 9 basic emotions, no chronic emotions and all those alleged emotions on the tone scale are not emotions at all, they are feelings which last for milliseconds or years, like in the grieving process after the loss of loved one. Defining emotions as chronic is a fallacy, because chronic has no set time limit and feelings are kaleidoscopic in nature, meaning there can be a mix of several feelings at the same time in a central assemblage, There is no vertical emotional scale to go up or down. Claiming there are pro survival emotions and contra survival emotions is more fallacy, claiming there are good emotions and bad emotions is more fallacy, because emotions are usually contextual to the present time environment and emotions of past trauma are mixed and colored by intensity , not recalled exactly, but reconstructed by several brain regions .Emotions have levels of intensity, for example, anger can turn to rage, last a moment or hours.Several good books explain the science of emotions, like Silvan S Tomkins, Affect,Imagery and Consciousness. Another goos study is Emotional Intelligence. The e-meter does not measure human emotion, that's more fallacy.

I've been trying to sort out if Hubbard was crazy of evil or both. He does not fit the antisocial 12 characteristics of a sociopath, like David Miscavige. But Hubbard is certainly a jerk. His megalomaniacal experiment in mind control has left tremendous wreckage of lives in its wake.

The policies of the Sea Org are built on the violations of human rights, and the Church of Scientology had one fate and one fate only: it would naturally end up in the hands of a monster: DAVID MISCAVIGE.

The biggest downfall of Scientology: NO OBJECTIVE DEFINITION OF RIGHT AND WRONG, like other religions have (e.g., Ten Commandments). Bad is just down-tone, down-stat or being a disloyal group member. Well, that's just great!

Hubbard drove himself insane with his body-thetan nonsense (which does suggest schizophrenia). He died in a trailer, in hiding with no family around, on anti-psychoitc medication, haunted by body-thetans. I don't think he lived a very enjoyable life. I'm imagine that wherever he is in the universe now, he is in severe spiritual pain over what he has done and his legacy. I really do perceive that. I'm very OT.

Neither can I - I was just glad to finally find confirmation that I wasn't imagining things through all those years of watching Ben Hur and thinking 'Oooooh, am I the only one who sees this?'!

I've heard the same thing, only with Boyd saying it was his idea... Perhaps it was in the film 'The Celluloid Closet'?
I can't remember...

I read somewhere that Stephen Boyd and the director talked about Boyd playing his character Massala as if he was gay, and still yearning after Judah. - Vidal told Boyd 'just don't tell Chuck, he'll fall apart'. :D

My parents both liked ST, so it was the one night of the week we were all fed, bathed, and in our nightclothes before it started - luckily we all (I had 3 siblings then) thought it was great. It wasn't until I was about 14 when I was raving about how gorgeous William Shatner was, and my mother agreed, that I realised her main reason for watching was him! At 14, to find there's something that you agree with your mother on, is a bit scary - we both still love him tho!

LSD was my recreational substance of choice in the 80s, but I stopped when I started to fear the inevitable bad trip. I did have a lot of good time with it, mind you. The Marching Powder just made me irritable!
