I think the floppy disks on those held more information than those huge disk drives on the IBM.

You were working on them way before I was. I went to UCLA my freshman year, and had a friend who was just enamored with computers. This was 62-63.
The had a huge room for their computer, air conditioned to about 65 degrees because heat was the enemy.

I remember they had a printer that, it it were set up right, could print through a huge box of paper in just seconds and spew it into the air and about 20′ across the room if they weren’t careful.

I don’t know what language they were using, but since it was used for a whole bunch of different stuff, I’m sure they were using Cobol for University business purposes and probably Fortran for research.

The (I assume it was a 360) that I did student programming in ’69 had all sorts of time leased out to a military think tank to help pay for it.

You’ll laugh at this – we were doing regression analysis in our programming to look at some data. Since the budget for students of our type was low, we were told to limit the variables to two, because it took up too much time to go to 3, and it would bust the budget. Heck a Commodore 64 or Apple 2+ could handle that easily, and later, so could a scientific pocket calculator.

Why, I’m so flattered…

Yep……I WAS Red Sonja as a kid! My mom’s friends said I would turn out to be a lesbian cuz I watched that movie everyday and play acted it out (I was an only child at the time). I didn’t realize the Queen was a lesbian until I hit middle school and watched it again! I still love it, for it made this weirdo who she is!
