When I got to the part, “The bad news is…” I thought it meant bad news for all us SPs, until I reread it and understood it meant bad news for DM.

The biggest mountain to climb is getting DM not to be looked at as the head of a religion, but a criminal. Since he’s managed to screw everything else up, all one can hope is that he continues in his present course. He’ll keep himself wrapped in the uniform of a religious leader as long as he can, and any attempt to straighten things out, he’ll scream “religious persecution” and try to get the few clams left to support him. Hopefully, by then there’ll be enough ex-scios and independents to put the lie to it.

I see a long, slow train wreck, too. I just hope the final result is DM being thrown in the hole in the end, and that not too many more people get hurt along with him.
