You have to understand that the Oklahoma Mental Health Board is aware of their tactics. They already fought with Narconon about certification in the 1990s for years in court, and the only reason that it got certified is because it was able to take advantage of a loophole in the state law. This would close that loophole.

David and Colin: if you have read some of the posts about the massive changes in both the Mental Health (MH) fields and the Substance Abuse (SA) fields, at the federal, state and local levels, this wait may come to feel not like something to be anxious about but rather the slow deliberate process of the legislative body in Oklahoma. And in every other state in the union.

In the state legislation to provide reasonable laws/rules/regs for ALL the MH and SA service providers (as they are called here in California), the emphasis is not on SCN/Narconon per se but rather on creating and providing excellent over-sight to service providers and getting rid of those who cannot change (like Narconon)..... something that has been sorely lacking in the SA fields, although quite apparent in the MH fields for many years now.

Please stay in contact with your contact in MH, see if you can have a similar contact in the SA component .... it is going to work out OK. SCN is flipping out at those of us who have been doing this work for a decade now and this Fair Gaming is doing them no good whatsoever..... it is serving as a "teachable moment" for those of us targeted to use to educate others about what is going on.

Whether Bob Adams is now a PR person or not, he deserves some jail time for what he created and implemented with Narconon, etc., as head of ABLE. Ditto for OSA Jeff Quiros at the SF org and his buddy Karen deLise. Enough is enough. And even better, all three should turn state's evidence.....

Or have they already?

“I think it would,” Murphey says, but he adds that rules state regulators develop after the bill becomes law will also be very important to how it is implemented.

*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *      *     *     *     *    *     *      *     *     *     *       *

This is true. The creating of the individual state laws/rule/regs by the state regulators to be in conformity with the new federal guidelines is the important component here. Although the Underground Bunker site is devoted to SCN/Narconon and therefore the emphasis is on how this legislation impacts SCN/Narconon, the scope of the state regulators is much greater..... both in the Mental Health and in the Substance Abuse programs.

For those of us in states with Narconons, it behooves us to contact our legislators on both sides of the aisle to make sure that the creation of the laws/rules/regs moves apace. And yes, the way Oklahoma is doing it is great, IMO. First establishing a reasonable law rather than waiting for the state regulations (which could take to the Fall in some states) and beginning (one hopes) to shut down the Narconons.

Remember, the medium-sized Narconons are pulling in between $8M-$10M per year of untaxed monies. The larger ones, like Narconon Arrowhead, much more and the little six-bed guys much less. And people are harmed, untreated, maimed and die in these facilities.

It is time to shut them all down.

OSA already have a fan page up on Tony. It's silly, vapid and about as interesting as a Linkedin page.

No one cares about it. Which is a pity as in real life Tony is a talented investigative journalist and a very interesting person. His only failing is that he doesn't have sordid, shady and colourful past. And that he wasn't around in 1919 at the Round Table in the Algonquin Hotel.
