Pretty sure it’s also a business college and consulting service that has *claimed* to have trained many executives in several top fortune 500 companies or influenced it’s organizational policies. Scientology isn’t “trying” to be above the law of the land, it absolutely *knows* it is based on it’s superiority over “wog think”.

I don’t think I answered this question very well, hence another stab at it.

I would hope any auditor worth his salt will do a psychometric or some sort of evaluation of a person before starting an auditing program. I don’t see Indies taking unnecessary risks with someone they don’t think they can help. I’m going to sidestep any further discussion on this topic as I’m sure many here will contend that going to see an auditor is a mistake in the first place, or that a licensed psychologist is a better place for someone to take their troubles.

These are excellent questions. I’m not an Indie auditor and many would probably say, if someone is ill, they should pursue medical attention. I would hope that many Indies have learned by the plethora of F-Up’s committed by the Cult that Hubbard was no medical professional, and many people simply may need to get well physically. Re: Type 3’s, I’ve heard from a few Indie Auditors that severely stressed out people need whatever auditing they seek out, and that the cult is famous for turning their backs on these people for fear of more Lisa McPheresons.
