John P has never put up an air of authority. It is perhaps the submissiveness to authority that Scientology installs in people that is causing you to feel that way. Just because someone is educated and shows it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are “authoritative”.

In the age of Scientology bashing the paranoia that comes with it cannot be avoided. The fact that there are church members who seek to disrupt the ongoing conversation cannot be ignored.

What I am saying is don’t be a child about it and just understand that everyone gets accused of being OSA at least once. I was several times before my story made it’s rounds.

Engaging in such an explicitly personal attack on an internet forum is not even a worthwhile activity.

I have been personally affected by Scientology as well and I find John P’s posts to be educating and helpful even though we do not share the same experience. The idea that someone cannot accurately comment on a situation just because they haven’t experienced it themselves is a foolish one.

Your statement that John P is narrow minded is indicative of your own narrow-mindedness. In accusing him, accurately or not, of being narrow-minded you betray your own judgments against him simply because he does not agree with you. Not to mention there is a hint of envy in your accusations of false authority and bravado.

No one is forcing their opinions on you. There are lots of posters here that I disagree with. I don’t attack them or even try to change their mind. The only time that I will comment on something that I find disagreeable is when the information within is false in which case the limit of my intervention is to correct the false information.

Although, I must admit, when a stated opinion is demonstrably ridiculous I will occasionally drop a sarcastic comment related to the subject matter. I never engage in name-calling or personal attacks. That is a shallow and ignorant tactic.

John P.. I love this word Honorificabilitudinitatibus.. And of course I had to look it up (NOT word clear it).. It means ‘the state of bing able to achieve honors..’ you know, like tom cruise.. Only in his case, it would be Honorificabilitudinitatibusness..

I am on an Android -today I see a happy Halloween vid. I hadn’t ever used it to read this blog in the past but I lost power & internet due to that bitch Sandy. I haven’t gone to clam sites on any device or computer that I own because I’ve heard about the cookies and possible keystroke loggers. I saw an ad on my laptop once or twice but it was a fairly benign thing for something boring like insurance. I don’t mind the ads because I want Tony to make money offf this blog, but the “Who is Marty Rathbun?” Ad surprised me.
