This lawsuit is rather risky for Cruise. To rebut “reckless disregard for the truth,” L&S will probably argue (a) Cruise is still loyal to Scientology (we know that!) even though (b) as a Scientologist, he cannot talk to an SP (that’s what Katie is) or anyone associated with her. Cruise will counter that (a) as a celebrity, he gets privileges, and (b) you should have known that (I mean, didn’t you read Tony’s articles?). All of this will (a) be fodder for the media, and (b) make Scientology look ridiculous, for a change. Cruise should have, but did not, leave Scientology to be able to see Suri.

Kevin, it happened numerous times to Sea Org Members who were made to disconnect from sons/daughters, husbands/wives and siblings in some cases.
Parents were made to find homes for children who were considered to be getting in the road of the greater good and being a distraction to the parents’ post production. Fathers who were being recruited into the Sea Org were advised to leave their child or children with their mother who would raise them while he went on to greater glory. If the wife/mother complained about this arrangement there were often threats of ethics leading to disconnection if she didn’t cooperate.
It happens. I know first hand.

One lawsuit is seen as seeking “truth,” two or more and it starts to look like “me thinks he doth protest too much.” The more litigation, the more depositions and court testimony, which would be a media circus. Does Tom Cruise really want his personal life ripped apart by interrogatories, depositions, and private investigators hired to prove he truly had abandoned his daughter? Litigation may look quick and clean on television, but in real life it is messy, lengthy, and intrusive when it deals with individuals and defamation.

Reference proving the idea that Scientologists believe each one of us will someday come to realize we are (and were) God, are Hubbard’s “Time Track Bulletin Number 1”, the “Factors,” and several of his 1950s lectures about how we started off being the whole universe, then to make a “game” of it, and to even have a game, we divided up the universe, like cell division in biology, into smaller and smaller parts and divorced ourselves and pretended not to know about all the sub parts we decided were not ourselves, sort of a long rang denial of what we were doing, dividing the universe up into smaller and smaller parts.

Really a paper ought be done, summarizing all of Hubbard’s ideas about God, and lay all the messy Hubbard ideas out clearly, so celebs don’t keep stumbling when asked what Scientology’s ideas about God are, sheesh!

But,official Scientology has no class and no allowance of a class of theologians who are allowed to write papers and books about the Hubbard corpus.

Only the ex official Scientologists, the freezone Scientologists are unencumbered by official Scientology’s totalitarian Hubbard constraints about discussing and writing books discussing Hubbard’s ideas. .

So when official Scientologists are asked tough question, they stumble and mumble along like Nancy Cartwright does.

She is semi untrained and just simply has not carefully studied all of Hubbard’s writings and lectures on the subject of Native State, and God, and the No Games Condition that God is the biggest example of (God is an example of the No Games Condition)..

Because Nancy can’t go on the freezone sites, and chat about all the Hubbard references to God, and this is a taboo, to be engaged in verbal data speculation on the implications and illogical troublesome ramifications of many of the Hubbard ideas of God, and it leads to a muddled discussion, and that’s definitely not what the Christian God is all about, Scientology’s God is very much not the Biblical God.

The Hubbard God, I’d say, is best distilled down to a half dozen Hubbard references:

a) His 1940 science fiction story called “One Was Stubborn”
b) His “Factors”
c) Time Track Bulletin Number 1 of 1963
d) The tape or tapes in the 1950s (I forget which exact one, but it was once excerpted and was an article in the Advance Magazine in the 70s or 80s), where LRH spells out the beginning of the universe, and his lectures and writings on the No Games Condition and Native State references (including LRH ED 339R Int The Birthday Game, where his final thoughts on Native State gets mentioned).

I’m so sorry for your pain..as an outsider I can say this happens to my friends children also, their fathers are not in Scion but it may be drugs or other sickness that tear families apart. Stay strong and healthy <3
