A STAR IS BORN: Scientology attorney Monique Yingling steals the spotlight on ’20/20′

——————–
Monique_Yingling

That was some episode of 20/20 last night, wasn’t it? We had a great time reading back the live-blogging our commenters engaged in last night. And we noticed that the break-out star of the program was Scientology attorney Monique Yingling. You loved her!

Here’s a sampling of how much Monique’s heartfelt, homespun wisdom went over here in the Bunker last night…

YingQuotes

We’ve had the pleasure of being in Monique’s company. She was one of the 15 or 20 suits who showed up for one of the hearings in the Monique Rathbun lawsuit down in Texas. But she wasn’t there to defend the Squirrel Busters. She strictly works for her ecclesiastical champion, Chairman of the Board David Miscavige. And what a performance she put on for him last night!

We want to congratulate ABC’s Dan Harris and producer Miguel Sancho for that brilliant program. We met with Dan and Miguel several years ago, and it was clear they were ambitious about bringing home the big story about Scientology. We know how hard they and their team must have worked to put this hourlong package together, and it showed.

We also understand where Tampa Bay Times reporter Tom Tobin is coming from when he said that last night’s program didn’t really break new ground that wasn’t already plowed by him and Joe Childs in their epic 2009 series, “The Truth Rundown,” which first revealed David Miscavige’s tyrannical style and the allegations of his physical abuse of underlings.

But even if the program didn’t contain much in the way of revelations, it still packed a major wallop because of how well it was put together, and also because of its break-out star, Scientology’s most squirmy spokesperson yet, Ms. Monique Yingling!

We want to hear what parts of the show moved you the most, or had you howling. Let’s keep this thing rolling a bit longer.

UPDATE: We want to thank ABC Channel 7 producer Lisa Bartley for including us in this excellent piece on Laura DeCrescenzo and her lawsuit, which was seen in L.A. Last night after the 20/20 special.

Happy Birthday, COB!

Miscavige56

Scientology’s supreme leader, David Miscavige, turns 56 years old today. We asked some of the people who used to know him, or were members in his organization, what birthday message they would give to him, if they could…

Jefferson Hawkins: “Although I’m not a Christian, I think I’d give him a nice inspirational Bible quote. Luke 12: 2-3: ‘There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be known in the daylight. What you have whispered to someone behind closed doors will be shouted from the rooftops.’

Tom Devocht: “I’d probably wish him a happy birthday, the best of luck, and let him know I don’t hate him or consider him an enemy. There’s enough hatred in the world as it is to hold on to grudges, fight over differences of opinions and beliefs. That doesn’t mean I trust him, but I know that, like any other ‘good Scientologist’ and contrary to its own ‘scriptures,’ Miscavige could never accept such a gesture from a labeled ‘SP,’ and its OK with me that it would just slightly irk him that I felt this way. I’m sure he’d rather I’d get all ‘SP’ about it and say nasty things about him but, oh well.”

Paul Burkhart: “It would certainly be different than the epic birthday poem I wrote for him about 4 years ago! Now I’m imagining that his exit plan is getting readied, because it won’t be long before it’s needed.”

Claire Headley: “Birthday message? None. I decline to communicate with evil sociopaths bent on destroying my family and thousands of others.”

Lori Hodgson: “Give me back my kids and give all the other broken families back their loved ones. Stop disconnection now for all of us and for your own family!”

Amy Scobee: “Karma is a bitch!”

Reairing of 20-20 again in another hour.

    • jazzlover

Shouldn’t they rename it 40/40 for a second airing? 😉

    • Robert Eckert

      Let’s live blog it again!

      • daisy

We do have fun, don*t we.

  • nottrue

Something weird in the neighborhood. DM doesn’t need Panama banks. He’s got this … Looks like they are building Matterhorn ride …http://www.koat.com/news/hidden-scientology-vault-in-new-mexico/39301142

    • ze moo

Video refuses to play for me. Have I been bad?

    • L. Wrong Hubturd

Still building those damn vaults. What the hell could they still be putting in there?

  • outraged

I KNEW she reminded me of someone. At first I thought it was Angela Merkel. But no…..

    Separated at birth?…

    • MarcabExpat

Yikes. She looks more like him than Denise does. Must be that fixed, dedicated glare.

      • Draco

It’s the total absence of warmth in the eyes.

        • Rasha

          “…lifeless eyes… black eyes… like a doll’s eyes….”

…sorry, it just always seems to fit. Sorry for the repetitive post…..

        • MarcabExpat

And look at their mouths! They both snarlsneer when they’re trying to sell a lie.

    • Supper Powers

Well, the same hairstylist and makeup artist for sure.

    • madame duran

Monique Yingling’s face is what Denise Miscavige could’ve had without the pot and meth interference. Not saying it would be an improvement…just that it would’ve looked different.

    • Spike Robinson

linked by the same lies… this is all the attention I could give the concept before feeling ill looking at both of these lying hounds.

Repeat of earlier PSA – Essay contest for a college scholarship includes a lovely entry from Astra Woodcraft’s daughter. The top ten vote getters by 11:59 tomorrow night will go into a second round to be evaluated by judges. Kate’s essay is in 9th place but the 10th place essay is gaining votes – it was 100 votes behind 2 hours ago, but is now only 54 votes behind. Her essay is beautiful and deserving.

Many of us already voted – but there is so much traffic from visitors/readers today – that I am hoping we can keep this high profile so that those who haven’t yet voted might see this, might read her essay, and consider voting.
(and please – tweet tony’s story about it reach out let’s see if we can’t get another round of votes to boost Kate.)

    Story about the essay:

  • StudiusJudius

I just couldn’t believe how bad Yingling was in the program. I was truly confused thinking that she was better than that. I even wondered if she sabotaged it intentionally. I could imagine she has seen the writing on the wall and decided to floof the goof so she’d get fired by CoS. It’s not like she needs the money anymore.

    • Supper Powers

Who sends in their rabid dog attorney to represent a church anyway? If you knew what you were doing, you’d at minimum send in someone who smiles for the cameras. She just seems like a bitter, broken record.

  • chukicita

So what do you think the budget would be for shooting 126 interviews so slickly produced it’s like they came off an oiliness table assembly line? That’s 126 sets, makeup/hair, camera, gaffer, editors…!

How long do you think they had to complete 126 video interviews?

I hope someone blows soon who can tell us what it was like on the other side of the razor wire when all this went down.

    • nicholas_jordan456

yes we could use a few defectors over the month

    • Draco

      Oh yes please!

    • Rasha

Okay, so I missed the broadcast and so on and so forth… Was it on one side, the family, the disconnected, the victims, and on the other side… a lawyer and recorded video comments?

      • L. Wrong Hubturd

You missed much. Better to watch and then return to savor the J&D that resulted.

        • Rasha

SO MUCH READING!! …. not that I’m not enjoying it, mind you….

        • Rasha

          Will do!!! ^_^

      • chukicita

It was Ron, Leah, a roomful of disconnected holding photos of their loved ones, photos of the dictator as a child, images of Tom Cruise’s birthday on the Freewinds (although no one asked who paid for all that), a cameo by Terl, and a category 5 hurricane whipped up by Monique Yingling’s eyelashes.

  • NOLAGirl (Stephanie)

“But she wasn’t there to defend the Squirrel Busters. She strictly works for her ecclesiastical champion, Chairman of the Board David Miscavige. And what a performance she put on for him last night!”

I can just see Miscavige watching the show yelling “Dance Lawyer Monkey!! Dance!!”

  • Chee Chalker

I wish Dan Harris would have asked Blinky, why, if the PIs were there to ‘help’ Ron (to protect him) why they didn’t call 911 when they thought he was having a heart attack.
Or run to Ron’s aid themselves.

    • ze moo

Dan Harris is no Mike Wallace. Just getting Ron Miscavage on the air was a major win for ABC. They have not done a $cieno story in a very long time. Now, when will 60 Minutes join the fray?

      • Chee Chalker

Yea…Anderson Cooper and CNN had ABC by 8 years!

      • Intergalactic Walrus

Don’t forget that ABC had Leah on 20/20 just last year, talking about the CO$.

    • NOLAGirl (Stephanie)

Someone that is there to protect you doesn’t hide in the shadows and report to someone else. They are quite hands-on with you and they consult with you, not someone else.

Props to the proprietor for taking the high road in choosing a screenshot of Ms. Yingling to display on today’s post that did not show her in the worst light. It so easily could have been done. Further props on the title of today’s post. 🙂 It will be very interesting to see if they ever use her again as a spokesperson.

More props to the commenters for choosing screenshots that were so revealing and amusing. I love this place and the people who populate it!

    • Spike Robinson

Speaking as someone who tried to capture a non-insulting still, it was hard to do. Her lips move in all the wrong ways and her constant blinking meant every other frame was her with eyes closed.

      Props, indeed.

    • TheMirrorThetan

Not in the worst light? That photo makes her look like a splitting image of Dave.
It reminds me of that saying that Pets and their owners start to look alike.
I’m going to cover her photo with liquid paper on my laptop screen, coz it is freaking me out. 🙂

  • Anony-Lurker

Somebody (I forget who) posted earlier that there are plenty of “stupid” posts which he/she finds insulting.

Honestly over the years, I’ve only seen clever posts, funny posts or just people hanging out being online friends.
    The few trolls don’t count.

    If 2 people don’t agree, that’s just a difference of opinion…not stupid.

    • Rasha

The Bunker is indeed a unique environment. ^_^

I hope the interviewer didn’t eat the muffins. And happy birthday, you slimy little shit.

If you are Captain Howdy back in another form, do give us a heads up. Scientology loves that returning life thing.
          😉

          • Loner Star

No, I’m afraid that I am not nor was I ever Captain Howdy. I was “Loner Star” without the extra “r”.

            • aquaclara

Oh, good. I hate giving the cult a win. Especially in Texas.

              Welcome back.

    • Anony-Lurker

I think most people don’t believe the Scientologists denials, lies and bullshit anymore. Those days are past.

  • Cars

I couldn’t help but chuckle when I read Tony’s clever headline today A Star is Born. The last remake of this film was in 1976, starring Barbara Streisand.

Monique Yingling epitomized the Streisand Effect meme last night and the fallout on social media was fast and furious. It’ll probably reverberate for weeks, months, and, perhaps, years to come. Thanks, Yinglingland!

I get the “outline, could be anybody at the door” concept, but a 4’7″ girl sashaying into an empty, dark building, no face, no identity…. Major Creep Factor. The shoulder angle to hip angle implies a strut, not someone seeking help. Hand in pocket implies confidence, ready to make a deal of some sort. Flared pants and haircut of a youthful teen girl. And why is “Help” capitalized?

      • Draco

I thought it was someone facing out – toward the public. The vibe I get is “Hey sailor! Want me to run a stress test on you?”

” ‘The behavior exhibited in this photo and described in the letters is an anathema to David Miscavige and was what compelled him to try to find a way to keep his father in check,’ the church told the site.”

Yes, because we all know how delicate and compassionate dear David is. Btw, the commenters at the Daily Mail aren’t having it. A number of cries of “Shooped!” Whether it is or isn’t, it tells you something about how the reputation of both the CoS and DM has devolved among the general public.

      • Mockingbird

He will be hit back by the internet, he hasn’t figured that out yet.

        • 5 Feet Long and Luminous

And it will be delicious to watch. ; )

          • Mockingbird

It will be brutal. The truth about Scientology and David Miscavige’s many crimes including but by no means limited to murder, fraud, conspiracy, human trafficking, torture, involuntary labor (slavery), inury, undue influence, civil and human rights abuses etc. etc. will continue to be brought forward.

The literally thousands of people who have been harmed by the abuses and crimes of Scientology will continue to speak out. Thanks to the efforts of people like Tony Ortega, Chris Shelton, Jon Atack, Gerry Armstrong, Jeffrey Augustine, Karen De La Carriere, Tory Christman, Jefferson Hawkins, Claire Headley and many others the information is available to be compiled, compared and analyzed.

People are realizing their experiences are unfortunately quite common and the cult has always followed one game plan: the doctrine of Ron Hubbard. The doctrine of covert abuse and undue influence being used to deceive, confuse, abuse and ultimately exploit and enslave Scientology’s own loyal members is the inner core of Scientology.

By comparison for example I just recently found the exact method used to attempt to brainwash me by the Scientology cult. It’s a method that was used on Bob Minton and is used frequently by OSA. They follow Hubbard’s direction to INTROVERT or gaslight their intended victims.

In my example the exact two Hubbard quotes that described this action along with a description by the Underground Bunker commenter Vistaril along with the quoted attempt by the Scientology cult to commit the exact same act upon Lori Hodgson made it completely clear what was done to me and also Bob Minton.

Several other OSA operations include the exact same tactics. I had already spent several hundred hours studying psychology, cognitive dissonance theory, academic cult materials and other resources but even with all that the additional information from Vistaril placed together all at once was essential to showing exactly what Hubbard directed and the Scientology cult members tried to implement. Unfortunately for them despite their strong efforts it doesn’t always drive victims to madness or suicide, admittedly it did cause significant distress as I didn’t understand what they were doing at the time.

I feel that their efforts to drive critics and potential enemies to madness or suicide often drive people into distress and uncertainty. Many victims hide or withdraw from Scientology in fear or depression. They suffer a variety of symptoms and sometimes continue to be affected for many years. That’s a sacrifice Scientology and Hubbard and David Miscavige are entirely comfortable making.

I feel the number of people Scientology has run such operations on is in the thousands at the very least. As more and more ex Scientologists and victims of Scientology abuses speak out the cumulative effect is for Scientology and David Miscavige unstoppable.

He is utterly impotent despite his billions in resources, thousands of remaining zealots and fanatics and a cadre of slaves to do his bidding, despite his army of criminal attorneys who are criminals as in unindicted coconspirators who will break any law, obstruct justice or suborn perjury or construct legal fictions to hide and protect the Scientology criminal conspiracy. Despite all this he is powerless to prevent the truth from coming out every day.

Through many efforts collective learning about the hidden and dishonest nature of Scientology will continue to be explored and exposed.

Scientology shrinks. It shrinks in membership and acceptability, it’s ability to hide behind lies is shrinking. Ms Yingling admitted disconnection is real, she admitted overboarding is real, she admitted the RPF is a “worker’s paradise”( usually a phrase used by totalitarian states).

Those admissions can’t be taken back. There are many facts that Scientology loses ground on the Jones family billboard has removed any doubt that disconnection is common. There are fewer and fewer lies for Scientology and David Miscavige to hide behind.

Calling a reporter a bigot won’t cut it now. Calling thousands and thousands of heartbroken families apostates won’t cut it either.

But the Scientology cult won’t just lay down and die. It needs to be put down like a mad dog.

    • Draco

Wow. Is it just me, or does that armband look shooped? As to the rest of the outfit … not even vaguely like the nazi uniforms. And that is NOT the nazi salute. That is: Oh, how tall is my son? With his high heels on, about this high.

      • Frodis73

Many people have said that…even non Bunker people on the tmz site were saying it. Total fail DM.

      • Mockingbird

        Yep. Desperate times.

    • sashiebgood

of course no one mentions in this that DM purportedly has one of the filthiest mouths ever and regularly denigrated homosexuality and others during his rants.

      • Mockingbird

        Don’t forget his racist tirades.

    • Allie

Most of the commenters deride Co$ for shooping Ron Sr in the Nazi uniform

      Several other good comments are:
Delia Mae: “Wow, Scientology must be terrified of what is in his book. They don’t seem to realize that the rest of the world knows their tricks” and
Chloe: “The more they attack the father, the more I know the book is fact”

Too late Davey – no matter what you do, NO ONE believes you anymore. And maybe not even the minions
      you think you control.

Woe to him who stabs his father, for the handle is more deadly than the blade.

        • TexasBroad

It depends on where he lives. Worst was Palestine area / East Texas. Hope he is safe. It was all sunshine here today finally…went to Galveston beach and it was lovely. We took a bad hit last week so I think everyone is ready for the rain to stop.

The pic looks (very shabbily) photoshopped. How totally desperate of Davey Boy to invoke Godwin’s Law.

I’m referring to the pic of Ron, by the way.

This Sea Org member seems to have a few loose screws, you don’t stalk a woman at the same time you call the police (who probably called mall security). I think we are going to see a lot more of this as the public turns increasingly hostile to scientology, especially when it sinks into the public psyche how many tax exempt dollars Miscavige is sitting on and using against his “enemies” (like his dad). I hope the hostility causes many of these members to go on the internet and then flee.

Because abusive cults are known for their fine handcrafts and homemade edibles. Heck, the Oneida Silverware Company started as a only somewhat repressive “Christian Free Love” cult of the late 1890’s.

The Boston Globe posted a short article today titled Alex Gibney going clear on Scientology and Ron Miscavige’s tell-all book http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/2016/04/29/alex-gibney-going-clear-scientology-and-ron-miscavige-tell-all-book/zoPsnXURICbCV9uJAXqkDK/story.html#comments

    Snip:

Gibney said he would not be able to watch Friday night’s much ballyhooed ABC “20/20”…

“I didn’t know about the show,” says Gibney. “But I sure knew about the book. I haven’t read it, yet. I can’t wait. I’m really interested in it. There are supposed to be some fascinating revelations. There must be, because I think it was an AP reporter who dug up a great story about how David hired a private eye to follow Ron and they found 2,000 rounds of ammunition in the PI’s car. Just goin’ huntin,’ I guess.”

Did Miscavige senior consult with Gibney in researching the book?

“Nah,” he says. “We were trying to get him to come forward at the time for our film, but we weren’t successful.”

All the more reason to renew our requests for a Going Clear, Part II. Remember, not long ago, Jigsaw Productions asked viewers if they were interested in a sequel? It might be time to remind his production company, and Gibney himself, that there is a need and a great deal of interest, especially after May 3rd when Ruthless comes out.

Yesssssss on both counts. Been in the doco viewing myself lately. I keep scanning the latest movies available and nothing for me, so back to doco’s.
Had to check what Zero Days was about again. July 8 hits theaters. Should be interesting … and scary! You know what scares me more in this category though – now that our internet providers are merging into one big puffed up ball of greed, with customers having to sign contracts that would make even Monique Yingling blush, is if the two of them (in the US that’s where we’re heading) would suddenly raise all the rates and the long list of fees overnight – like if they just tripled the bill overnight. And by contract you couldn’t do squat. What would happen?
Stuff of nightmares! will Definitely see this one – we should compare notes.

          • Cars

Yeah, we’ll compare notes, on both the doc and what happens when telecommunication companies become monopolies. You’re right, it is the stuff of nightmares – on so many levels.

I saw the Janis Joplin doc he produced Little Girl Blue. I’m glad I saw it and would watch it again but I could tell he didn’t direct it; it lacked his auteur thumbprint. He really is a special doc filmmaker.

  • $cientology has always had very slimy lawyers. At first, I thought that was good ole Earl Cooley disguised as a woman with a wig and several layers of asphalt burnished to a keen bronze on the face. Pretty sure most viewers thought “Damn, that’s what working for $cientology does to you?” Here’s Monique’s twin, Earle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aipxYsNtwv0

    • chuckbeattyexseaorg75to03

Cooley playing the lawyer convert modified “scientologist” and calling LRH a “great thetan” and a “mighty thetan” soured me. He didn’t know he was saying L. R. H. wrong.

We ought to never had bought into Hubbard’s nutworld. Lawyers included, should never get so behind LRH and Scientology as Cooley did. Cooley, who was “LRH’s lawyer” in the pecking order of lawyers, a sick position to have assumed.

      • If you’re a $cientologist, everything is a substitute. Cooley was a lousy lawyer. $cientology has always had lousy lawyers because that’s what they attract, no matter how much they pay. And because Elwrong was a substitute for a human who wanted to be God.

I noticed during the 20/20 show Dingling was blinking a lot.

“Seven Signs That You Are Being Lied To”
    http://www.contactomagazine.com/articles/liarsigns0808.htm#.VyU_AdQrI1I

“2. BLINKING. A person who is lying will blink a lot,as blinking seems to correlate to the amount of mental stress we are under. In a normal conversation where a person is attuned to you, he will blink at roughly the same rate as you, often at moments when you pause in your speech. Be wary of someone who is blinking frantically as they speak with you.”

Not that we needed any confirmation what a liar she is.

    • April

Yingling is a lying liar who lies? Nooooooooooo

      • Rasha

It is, after all, an anagram for “lyinging”…

    • Aslan’s Own

I also noticed that she is turned so far away from the interviewer that she’s almost sideways in her chair:

      3. SHOULDER MOVEMENTS. A person who is in easy rapport with you will often mirror your body position, which means if he was stood in front of you his shoulders would be parallel to your own. If he is uncomfortable with his own statements and is lying – he is may express this by turning his shoulders away a little.

      • Rasha

        4. YINGLING. A person who is fully aware of the B.S. they are spouting will often yingle. Avoid anyone who is yingling.

        • Aslan’s Own

Ha! Basically, her picture should pop up when someone googles “Body language of liars”

  • Narapoid

Mike Rinder didn’t have a post today. I wonder if he is talking with some under-the-radars. Maybe not just a few. Maybe Lisa Marie is involved? What do you think OSA, agent of COB?

I do hope it makes it to a jury.

Re Monique Yingling: “And I thought my jokes were bad.”

  • Douglas D. Douglas

There was something about Monique Yingling that was eerily familiar. The fanatical gleam in the eyes… the worshipful language when speaking of Miscavige… the faux aristocratic disdain in her eyes. In working with several photos of her, I suddenly realized the historical figure she brought to my mind: Magda Goebbels. This is the woman who was so devoted to the ideals of the Nazi Reich that she coldly murdered her six children and then took her own life as a sacrifice for her Fuehrer. I wouldn’t say that Monique is a Magda… but they both give me the creeps.

Sad. How many family financial crises (second mortgages, wiped out college funds, cleared out retirements savings) are being created in the pointless cause. All the talk of baking in the wake of last night’s show – I hope that DM and Co$ are getting ready to be baked.

      • jazzlover

I wonder if they have a way of strong-arming the IRS out of that 10% penalty that comes out of retirement funds withdrawn prior to 59 1/2. That would make for yet another interesting discussion.

        • salin

          That would be very interesting.

          • jazzlover

Yeah, I wouldn’t negate that possibility. 10% can be a big chunk. Maybe Blinky has found a way around the law.

        • Todd Tomorrow

O.T. I’d love to hear Ron Sr’s groovy album.

          • jazzlover

I don’t know what brought that on, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere on the net. IIRC, the name on the album cover pictured on 20/20 last night was Ron Savage. I looked under both names on you tube, all music and discogs.

            • Todd Tomorrow

I just thought you might have had better luck than I did looking for it. And sure enough you’d looked for it. Cheers,

            • jazzlover

Oh, no problem. I was curious too and meant to look for it last night, but things were happening fast and furious around here 🙂 Weird thing: when I looked in discogs, I typed Ron Miscavige and one of the albums that popped up was a 1985 Edgar Winter album. Musicians weren’t listed, so I couldn’t verify. But it’d be pretty cool if he did actually play on an Edgar album, eh? Otherwise, all he got to play with were the first-class musicians in scientology (I swear I laughed my ass off for a full 10 minutes when Ying-ding said that).

This isn’t just for me, you know. So many, some who won’t even see this day, the thousands who kept speaking when it seemed no one would listen. The constant stream of setbacks and defeats, the surge of harassment and blows, the hearts and families and lives that were scorched even outside the court rooms.

It’s like you don’t want to stop for a moment to breathe or you might lose what little forward steps were won or you’d lose your voice or place. So when I got this tweet back from Leah, it was the first time I think I had ever just stopped. And breathed. It meant the world to me, but I hope everyone understands this is for all of us, for every voice.

We are not alone anymore. Finally.

Mr Miscavage……really with all do respect. I submit to you a thought. Hey why not say Disconectinon doesn’t exist. And make it so. It’s flipped so much that no one knows what to think. LRH said it was out. Say to your congergation that it’s been up and down over a long time. Well it’s not today. Call your friends, folks, parents. The church has said that it dosnt exist. So why can’t you make it so. We are close to Mother’s Day. How beautiful would that be.

  • Lawyer Monique Yingling ~~ a TRUE STORY.
Monique Yingling was an eye witness to a terrifying ambush kidnap authored by David Miscavige.
    Please read on.

Janet Light was the President of IAS administrations gave years of support to Miscavige. She was his
    golden girl. (see images attached.)

The “International Association of Scientologists” is this renegade non-policy invention of Miscavige designed to rip off, gouge, vulture out $$$$ from hapless Scientologists. This entity has around with $1.5 billion dollars in liquid cash. Imagine the interest rate on that even at 3%.

Janet eventually started expressing disagreements with Miscavige’s increasing greed and criminality. This was late 2006. Then Janet voiced disagreements with David Miscavige’s violence with staff. This can be a dangerous thing to do. She had been a favorite “pet” of Miscavige while huge sums of $$$ rolled in to Church
coffers. Ridiculous claims were made of how dangerous the world had become and how if one did not give money now now now, the world would almost come to an end. The Kool Aid drinkers, the die hard Scientologists fell for it and gave blood money in the multi-millions.

Janet Light and her husband Colm Mclaughlin were planning to leave the Sea org (Blow). They had had enough. Preparations were being made for flight…

Miscavige found out about this and decided to teach her a lesson. The Lesson of the torture chamber called “SP Hole”. He needed a gang of Sea Org members to carry this plan out. His technique is to use a gang to carry out dark deeds.

He commenced auditions to find out what “trusted” Sea Org members he could find to pluck Janet Light out of Los Angeles and bring her to the “SP Hole”. A large bunch was selected and they were all escorted to “Author Services” Building on Hollywood Boulevard where David Miscagive sat with his lawyer Monique Yingling in there. This Lawyer Monique Yingling is in on the briefing to kidnap Janet Light and her husband Colm Mclaughlin and hold her against will. 15 Sea Org members pounce on Janet and her husband Colm. Colm starts screaming “this is illegal, this kidnap !” Monique Yingling was sitting there, eye witnessing the illegal act of kidnap.

Colm was fighting it, whereupon he was dragged into a closet and Kurt Weiland, who weighs some 250 lbs sat on him physically for a couple of hours. Colm is sent to Freewinds where he is imprisoned in a cabin for 18 months. But that is another story.

Janet was separated from her husband Colm and sent to INT base to SP Hole. Janet kept saying “I’m done with this, I am not not going for this” essentially wanted to leave the Sea org but not being permitted to. It was a few hours before she agreed to go back to INT Base. Janet did not know she was going in SP Hole, Janet thought she was going up to INT Base to meet with Miscavige.

A Feeding frenzy occurred when she arrived. The pattern was to scream, hurl insults at a new arrival, ask
repeatedly for Crimes, “Crimes against David Miscavige”. Janet Light was made to stand in trash can with a sign “I am a criminal” with water being thrown over her identical to Debbie Cook story.

    • Objection. Jk.

    • daisy

Good if someone testifies at a later date, she is complicit in a crime. She should be disbarred. The other good news is anyone who was witness to her interview would never use her. That story disgusts me and any moral human, ICK.

      • $137608073

I can’t speak to the particulars of this incident, but one of the reasons DM hunts down former members and spies on them is to see if they are waking up enough to go to authorities if they know of crimes. If and when they do, harassment can start with them, and just about everyone remotely connected and some not at all but, you know, just in case.

OSA and DM’s lawyers will know the statute of limitations on each type of crime. They know how long to spy and if they start waking up, recovering from the trauma and brainwashing, they start harassing if they even Think they might talk to anyone. It’s sick and twisted and paranoid. But there is that one factor that at least makes some reasoned sense and that comes from the lawyers who know those statutes cold.

        Just when you think ….

        • daisy

They are worse than mob lawyers. They advise about crime, but are usually not witness to it . Plausible deniability . I hate people who are out of the cult and perpetuate this crime. They are not brainwashed just evil.

I had to take a long walk when I first heard, I think it was Marc Headley who spilled, that those leaving recently were given huge bribes, like 6 figure huge, to keep quiet. Yeah, these are the fellow sociopaths.

Karen. I read this and had to go for a quick ride on my bike. These personal stories are just so hard to stomach. Overwhelming sense of anger and helplessness knowing that crimes are still being committed.

    • villagedianne

As a veteran Scientology-watcher, I’ve become desensitized. Few things about the cult really shock me anymore. But this did.

    • Still_On_Your_Side

The statute of limitations may have run on this crime, but karma is a bitch, and much tougher than Monique Yingling or David Miscavige.

    • JanInThePan

Stunned..it’s always worse than you think.

    • As an officer of the court, her inaction could be seen as an offense worthy of disbarment in California, even if the statute of limitations expired on this criminal act.

[3] Narrow exception to duty of confidentiality under this Rule. Notwithstanding the important public policies promoted by lawyers adhering to the core duty of confidentiality, the overriding value of life permits disclosures otherwise prohibited under Business & Professions Code section 6068(e), subdivision (1). Paragraph (B), which restates Business and Professions Code section 6068, subdivision (e)(2), identifies a narrow confidentiality exception, absent the client’s informed consent, when a member reasonably believes that disclosure is necessary to prevent a criminal act that the member reasonably believes is likely to result in the death of, or substantial bodily harm to an individual. Evidence Code section 956.5, which relates to the evidentiary attorney-client privilege, sets forth a similar express exception. Although a member is not permitted to reveal confidential information concerning a client’s past, completed criminal acts, the policy favoring the preservation of human life that underlies this exception to the duty of confidentiality and the evidentiary privilege permits disclosure to prevent a future or ongoing criminal act.

So they can share this information with the media and public.

Watching the Laura De Crescenzo video with fresh eyes, it just strikes me that every check mark for human trafficking gets ticked off one by one. Is there Any clause in the laws governing human trafficking that explicitly states “but hey, if it happens under a building that happens to have a cross perched on top, it’s fine and peachy … and none of our business”?

  • PerpetualOutflow

I missed all of the fun, insights and snark today b/c of commitments I had and I”m looking forward to catching up now. What a great piece on Laura D.–bravo ABC! Tony, you were fantastic. Also, I was able to watch 20/20 again this evening, this time with people who don’t follow the antics of the $cios and know little about them. Their unprompted reaction: Monique came off as arrogant, haughty and not credible. Since one of them was a lawyer, I asked her about Monique’s assertion that it was routine for attorney’s to hire PIs. She replied, “Yes, it is, but not to do that kind of stuff…that’s absurd.” For my part, I think an hour, as long as it seems in the broadcast world, is way too short to bring total noobs up to speed on the realities of the Sea Org, Gold base, disconnection, the RPF, fair gaming and all the rest. The ABC piece was just able to scratch the surface and so much was left out including and notably Shelley Miscavige. I was afraid that it didn’t give noobs enough info, but apparently it did b/c they all came to the same conclusion–what a sick and scary organization.

    • Chee Chalker

Attorneys only hire PIs if the client agrees to pay for them. Trust me on this. A law firm would not make this kind of expenditure without approval

    • Frodis73

      Nailed it!

      • Vaquera

Thanks Fro. It’s been nagging at me since last night, trying to put my finger on who Yingy resembled. Finally figured it out. Whew, now I can go back to thinking shallow deep thoughts.

Today I’ve referenced both Orphan Black and Big Love. Starting to think my random viewing habits are fringe-worthy.

        • Frodis73

Me too! Others were posting some good ones, but this is who i was thinking of…just couldn’t remember…and she’s been around awhile and is in a lot of things. one of those actors where you say ‘i know you from somewhere but not sure where’.

I wish Leah would pop in to the Bunker and just have one drink with us.

    • And Lisa Marie Presley.

        Yes, please.

Hey..maybe they are here, but want to remain quiet :))

        • They are here.

          • Susan black

Ok, how about Katie? Or maybe her dad.

            • Sure. And Nazanin Boniadi.

            • Susan black

Oh yeah, she’s here every day.

            • I say once a week.

            • TexasBroad

I’m hoping Giovanni Ribisi is here.

            • Supper Powers

I hope Beck lurks here. I want him out so badly.

            • Juliette Lewis too.

            • Supper Powers

My bet is she’s a UTR.

            • She’s moved on:

After discussing Cape Fear and cordial run-ins with Brad Pitt, Lewis talked about her spiritual nature. She told Stern that she had dabbled in Scientology but when he asked her if she was a Scientologist, she just replied by stating she was a spiritual person that believes in benevolent forces and godliness. Lewis has had many admirers in her career. One of those admirers happened to be Foo Fighters lead singer and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl.

            • Frodis73

Keep in mind she could be lying though. Sci is toxic these days and she knows it. I hope she is out, but until she flat out says it, I question her status.

            • Todd Tomorrow

I’ve heard she’s quite the excentric. She plays porno movie sound tracks at her parties because “she likes the music.”

            • thetastic

That just sounds like she wants attention for being”offbeat”.

            • Todd Tomorrow

              Boom-chicka-wah-waaah

            • Eclipse-girl

              I do not believe it

            • The only thing that sticks out is the reference to benevolent beings. Unless she’s talking about LRH, there’s nobody else in the CoS cosmology who would meet that description.

It reminds me of Abraham Lincoln’s statement that he had never “avowed infidelity”, which in his time meant one didn’t believe that Christianity was a true religion. If she’s such a strong person, she should disavow CoS because their ability to affect her career is minimal at the present moment.

            • daisy

David Grohl introduced her the other night by saying she is better at performing than acting. I thought she was terrible but I am no music expert.

            • Ella Raitch

Sounds like a non-answer answer, distancing herself, but doing the good roads/fair weather thing.

Bully for her – she can get away with it.

            • Pineygrrl

              1000 upvotes on that.

            • I want them all out, so it’s just Miscavige alone at an utterly abandoned INT Base. And he has to turn all the lights out at night.

          • Frodis73

            i think so too!!

          • Rasha

That would violate the local Smoldering Code. We’d need a special Suppressive System installed.

  • thetastic

Two things really stood out for me in that densely packed, beautifully edited program. One was the choice of Gary Morehead as a tour guide for Gold. What an effective choice, so much more powerful than using a big name defector. The other was my non-scientology watching husband seeing Yingling on screen for about 15 seconds and asking me, “Who is that bitch?”. It showed me that it’s not just my bias, she really did come off as slimy to the average viewer.

    • villagedianne

It’s good to get your opinion validated by a non-Sci-watcher.

    • Baby

birdy.. My husband had the same reaction. I asked him to watch with me..and I waited for passive aggressive shrugs as usual.. He said.. ” Sure.”

As I said last night.. When she said..something like Lawyers hire PI’s all the time without their clients knowing anything about it.

He rarely swears. And he jumped on his feet and Shouted. ” BULL SHIT.. ”

There was 10 minutes to go and he said.. Can I get off the hook for not watching the rest if I made you Caramel Corn? I can’t stand listening to that woman for one more minute..She is a liar. ”

      BTW the corn was delicious.

      • thetastic

Ooh, I love my new nickname! And am totally jealous of the caramel com.

        • Baby

I couldn’t decide to nickname you Maggie for Magpie or birdy.. so of course you have a choice.

It was so good you wouldn’t believe it. He spreads the caramel all around… I clump it and there is more dry corn than caramel. ( But the clumps are fabulous!)

          • thetastic

Hmm, I don’t know, I like Maggie too. Hard to choose.

I make caramel com at Christmas only. My recipe takes over an hour and makes a crapload of dishes, bc I have to bake after coating, with stirring every 15 minutes. I miss it the rest of the year.

            • Baby

Well you just think about it and let me know.. We have a bird Q .. so I think Maggie is cute… I love that name..

This was the microwave kind.. Nothin fancy.. ( Orville’s I think) Upir Xmas corn sounds like what my daughter makes.. OMG so good.

              Night Maggie..xoxo love you baby

            • thetastic

They make microwave caramel corn? Where has this been all my life? Going to the store tomorrow for sure! Thanks, Baby, and g’night!

            • Chee Chalker

Maggie is my daughter and I call her Magpie, so I wholeheartedly approve of the nicketyname!

            • Baby

OMG that is TOO much of a coincidence.. I have never met a Maggie I didn’t like! xo

        • Todd Tomorrow

          Isn’t he Karen’s husband?

          • Supper Powers

      • Supper Powers

Oh for sure, TO. I just meant audio/visual interview. TO goes without saying.

Request – can someone on a different time zone repeat a PSA several hours from now? Time is running out. Thanks.

PSA – College Scholarship competition that Astra Woodcraft’s daughter is competing in with an amazing essay. The way to qualify to have the essay judged by a panel of judges – is to be in the top ten of votes. Voting is close and ends at 11:59 Sunday night. It is a powerful essay about the inspiration Kate (the author) has from her mother’s escape from Co$. Many of us have already voted – but we need to reach those who weren’t here when Tony posted the story (see below) – and traffic in the UB comments is up – so we need to get this story – and her essay – in front of more eyes that might choose to vote.

    tl;dr:
Tony’s UB post about this competition: http://tonyortega.org/2016/04/12/astra-woodcraft-ex-scientology-kid-wants-you-to-read-a-short-essay/

Link to the top ten essays (Kate in Winnetka is currently the 9th of 10 on the page): https://www.wyzant.com/Scholarships/SubmittedEssays?pageNumber=0&pageSize=10#most-votes

Votes needed – tweets needed – and someone posting this while from a different time zone – in a number of hours to catch the eye of readers from different time zones.

    Go Kate!

Seeing the comments about Shelley down thread, you have to wonder how in the world she would come to grips with what has happened to the husband she so loved and admired were she to find out the news today. And ironically, had he not have ejected her from his life a decade ago, she could have been the one loving reality factor that could have helped temper his worst inclinations and save him from his current humiliation and demise. As you sow, so shall ye reap I guess. Or…karma is a bitch.

It looks like another book about a former member of the CoS will be out next spring The author/journalist is Robin Gaby Fisher.

    Snip:
“Fisher won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news, was a Pulitzer Prize finalist twice for feature writing, won Harvard University’s Taylor Family journalism award, and won Best in Show for the National Headliner Awards… New York Times bestselling author of three books… Currently the director of the Journalism Program at Rutgers University’s Newark campus, Fisher is working on a book for Penguin/Putnam about a woman’s struggle with the Church of Scientology. It will be released next spring.” http://www.thevermontstandard.com/2016/04/woodstock-author-captures-tragedies-in-bestsellers/

Has anyone else heard anything about this book, its subject, or the author?

  • Somebody asked if the eye witness to Janet Light Mclaughlin and Colm Mclaughlin kidnap and forceful body arrest in front of Monique Yingling was ever published previously.
Janet was in SP Hole for the subsequent 4-5 years.
Colm was in a prison cabin on Freewinds where he threatened to go to FBI on release, so they kept him in locked down
Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder talked about this incident in depth
Major media never showed any interest in these stories THEN.

Reprehensible. Are Janet and Colm together now, out and okay?

      • Yes, both out of it all and OK. More story coming.

Yay!! That is a horrible story…I hope Blinky Monique gets what she deserves.

        • PerpetualOutflow

          So happy to hear that!!!!!!!

    • Narapoid

Janet was the head of the IAS!!?? The “war chest” to “defend” $cientology. Where the Lawyer and private Investigator money comes from? Monique Yingling knew about a FELONY kidnapping?

This film is from some 5 years ago and you posted it last fall. There is no way you could’ve known that Yingling would be the spokesperson for Chairman Miscavige for the 20/20 show that wasn’t even planned 8 months ago.

This is hot and thanks for putting it out there Karen!

    • Kay

Doesn’t this make BlinkaLing an accessory to a felony? She should be disbarred.

  • Todd Tomorrow

Why would the police believe that a “drug dealer” would be peaking in an elderly man’s window? I know small town cops were stupid but this is truly silly. I’ve never bought drugs(recently) but none of the dealers ever looked in my window.

    • Frodis73

Lol, that caught my eye too. IIRC in the reporting that broke last year it was actually just a suspicious person they were called about…I am thinking the drug dealer is Ron’s spin on what happened. Well, not spin, just probably what he thinks happened.

      • AnyOldName1

My take as well. I’ve got a Mom that same age – sometimes they jump to conclusions about stuff like that. If I were a neighbor, I’d suspect possible “break in”.

I don’t know if this was discussed..

What do you think DM thought of Yingading’s performance last night?

    • Frodis73

Dying to know…if he checked social media, and we all know he did, he had to see what a major FAIL it was…nobody was buying her BS and it wasn’t just us SP’s. i’m sure he’s drunk and freaking out.

    • daisy

He has no insight , he will think she did well , UNTIL he hears otherwise. He was no doubt behind her answers in the first place. No credible lawyer with half a brain would say the crap she did. He was probably advised about how to tone down his rhetoric and looked around and she was the only to do exactly as he ordered. That said when he realizes it was a disaster it will be her fault
It will be exactly like his direction of Battlefield Earth.

    • Vaquera

As if DM being pleased is actually an option.

    • Cosmo Pidgeon

I thought of that and I think he probably thought she sucked and did a lousy job at what she was hired to do. Unless he is blind. She did have plausible deniability which was the whole idea. But I don’t think he anticipated her looking as sleazy as she did. A quality hard to recognize when you are talking to one in the same in private. Film and TV cameras have a way of exposing personalities that I don’t think he was counting on.

      • Loner Star

Slappy and all hardcore Scilons believe she did a great job. They don’t expect the ‘no case gain’ types to understand how awesome she is. Lol….

    • Douglas D. Douglas

Well… considering that he and his sycophants still imagine his 1992 debacle on ABC was personally Emmy-worthy, I would guess he is pleased with the way his hand-picked blinksperson performed.

Here in Philly Scientology bought an old building to make into an Ideal M’Org which they have boarded up, let decay, etc. from lack of funds (sound familiar?). Back in January the Daily News ran a piece about David Braverman & referenced the M’Org (it’s what drove him back to the real world). Hoping the local ABC station (@6ABC) or Phila. Inquirer/Daily News will follow-up:

So is L&I taking this to Blight Court or not? Still a fire hazard? @phillydotcom @6abc https://t.co/SpBKeyL6Mw— AnyOldName (@AnyOldName2009) May 1, 2016

      Hi AnyOldName1,
Scientology has the funds (billions) to refurbish the building in Philadelphia…and to ‘keep Scientology working’…it’s just that Miscavige doesn’t want Scientology money used for Scientology…he wants to keep as much of it in the coffers for his own personal use. ~Never know when he might need another motorcycle or to buy a gift for his buddy Tom Cruise or throw him another lavish party…or to hire PI’s to chase around and Fair Game what has now become an army of a million critics.

      • AnyOldName1

So true! But, with Toronto breathing down his neck for unpaid taxes it would be nice to add this to the list of required bailouts. Not that I want to “pile on” or anything 😉

  • Aslan’s Own

I would love to have seen YingBlinkling’s (sp) face when she saw Tony’s article today! Then when she started reading these posts, then the posts last night and seeing all the memes. She’s probably still here!

    • L. Wrong Hubturd

      Self conscious much, Ying-a-ding?

      • Aslan’s Own

I think her head probably exploded after reading any social media today.

    • Frodis73

You know…that makes me wonder if she’s been reading here and at other places. I hope so because she did not look good at all. At least we can know she might be suffering from humiliation today. (fingers crossed) i want her kids to give her a smack down…esp if their friends know what she does…they have to be asking about it. i would if I had a friend that had a parent doing that job.

      • Aslan’s Own

I know. I’m sure she would have checked here last night and then to see that she’s the “star” today must have infuriated her. Anybody who knows her who is on any social media must be aware of what people were saying.

        • daisy

People like that do not care about people like us , we are jealous, she got us riled, blah blah, anything other than her own performance. If she had the ability to be shamed she would not have taken the job in the first place.

          • Kay

            Very true.

          • Aslan’s Own

You’re right. After I wrote that I realized the same thing. After reading what Karen wrote and watching the video of Mike and Marty talking about how she was present while people plotted the kidnapping of a couple, she is probably somewhat sociopathic.

            • Orglodyte

Hmmm … aren’t sociopaths typically better liars? To me she looked heavily stressed.

            • Aslan’s Own

Well, you do have a point there. I worked for someone I’m convinced is a sociopath and she was more relaxed when she was lying.

            • noseinabk

You could tell when she was telling a fact she believed vs stating what she knew to be a lie. So much fail. When she was speaking I asked my husband who she reminded him of . He immediately knew I was referring to a sociopathic liar in his family. You can tell when she has believed her own lies and when she is fabricating a new one that will soon become fact in her mind.

            • Aslan’s Own

In fact she reminded me a little of Mike Rinder on the BBC show, when his cognitive dissonance was cranked to the max. She should watch “Liar Liar,” maybe that would do the trick.

I can’t imagine she has the confront to read these posts.

Ha! That’s the kind of adorable question mine would ask!

            • Vaquera

Ariat are known to be the most comfy and also good looking. That said, I’m partial to Lucchese. Old Gringo has some cool designs, tho pricy.

I’m partial to Lucchese also, but I found a new brand I absolutely love (F5 for example pic and link) but I can’t have them because, well you know, mortgage. Every pair is hand-tooled, cut and custom fit. 100s of designs. Amazing. http://www.cockofthewalkdesigns.com/shop/

Wow, back downstream Karen de la Carriere posted a video of Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun talking about everyone’s favorite spokesperson Monique Yingling being involved before hand with a felony kidnapping. FROM 5 YEARS AGO.

I don’t know how to make a shortcut, but it is back about 20 comments. Check this live wire out!

ETA: She says they are out and more is to come!

    • Dice

you click on the “4 minutes ago” thingy and there will be a yellow vertical bar on the left of the Avi. Then there will be a commenting number #762357635 in the url in the browser. I know 🙂 it’s a pain in the a**
ETA: remember to remove that commenting number after your done or you will keep having this comment as the first one, for ever 🙂

    • noseinabk
      • FredEX2

WOW. This story needs to be sent to 20/20. Did they know about this…that Yingling was witness to it? In essence she could be considered an accomplice. If so, there’s no excuse for not bringing it up and confronting her during the interview…especially when she was saying that no one was held against their will.

As the stories are told…it’s clear that things are so much worse than we knew. So many stories of lives damaged and destroyed. These stories need to be read before Congress.

Those fishin’ vids were the best! The copper rod one will always be #1!

    • AnyOldName1

FWIW, I just posted to the comments on Part I of the 20/20 videos. It is under moderation. Hope the message gets thru and maybe ABC verifies with Mike Rinder.

      • Frodis73

Did you comment at the ABC site? Maybe we should bomb them with emails and link them to the vid and Karen’s story below. they might want to look into that…I wonder if there are any other witness’s to that event other than Janet that are now out.
eta, actually probably not…i’m thinking tony would be all over this story but he’s not because there is not enough proof that makes him comfy to publish the info.

        • AnyOldName1

Yep, I put it in the comments on this: http://abcnews.go.com/2020/video/scientology-leader-david-miscaviges-father-sons-childhood-part-38771922

It hasn’t shown up – but they have the comments set to moderation. Even if they don’t let the comment through, I hope the message reaches someone.

          • Frodis73

Ah, I just posted…they must not except links. you can try re-posting by adding spaces to the links, but some sites won’t even let those go thru.

          • Frodis73

Oops, never mind because now my comment is gone and all I said was thanks for the story exposing this criminal cult.

            • AnyOldName1

They “moderate ” the comments – so it may appear in a day or two.

  • FredEX2

There’s been something kinda concerning about what’s happening for Scientology right now. Miscavige has been exposed…and continues to be to the point there is no turning things around in his favor anymore…you can’t un-ring all these bells…and I’m concerned with just how desperate Miscavige may get. He IS, after all,~ a psychopath…and they’ve been known to do desperate things when cornered. ( like Jim Jones when he was being exposed & the Feds were closing in so he had all his parishioners drink laced kool aid )

Given how Scientologists think about ‘dropping the body’ or ‘end cycle’ and ‘picking up a new body…well, I dunno…~just a concern for them…and being led by a megalomaniac madman at their helm with his reputation exposed & irreparably damaged by the things he has done and said.

When you read about him now ‘disowning his Dad’…and spewing out a vitriolic and untrue greatly embellished smear campaign against his Dad in retaliation for him being on 20/20 and writing a book exposing him…you can tell David Miscavige is unraveling…he could do anything…he’s certainly been a ruthless danger to others before. He’s clearly been covertly destructive over the years he’s been in charge as COB…and now seems to be overtly destroying Scientology…you just never know how far he might go.

Anyway, seems he’s under tremendous scrutiny and pressure right now and his words indicate an obvious rage and anger towards his Dad and possibly everyone else around him…Psychopaths don’t respond well when things aren’t going their way and they lose face. They can become quite unglued and volatile. Miscavige has already proven he can be violent and destructive…just concerned for the people around him…

    • Frodis73

I was thinking about this the earlier. We have had these types of discussions in the past. Specifically about whether or not sci’s could pull a Jonestown type thing. Usually people (myself included) seem to think it’s not likely. Though, they are so cold and heartless towards death (the story about Taylor’s suicide for example) and think “hey, I can just go pick up another body” actually should put them high on the risk for suicide. If they really believe they are coming back…then hey, what’s the big deal.
Davy is definitely becoming more and more unhinged. I remember an interview with Tom DeVocht discussing how paranoid he is…all this intense scrutiny, paranoia and fear have got to be bringing him to a breaking point. Whether he goes on the run like LRH or does something more extreme is really up in the air…at this point it could go either way and I wouldn’t be surprised.

      • noseinabk

These people who are hanging on until the end are never going to pull a Jonestown. They are so sure that they are getting god-like super powers that they are accepting severe abuse in order to ksw . These die hards believe that they are the only superior beings who need to rule over us to save us from ourselves. This is why I have so little respect for those that contributed to the abuse of others and only blew when they were put in the hole or rpf.

        • Frodis73

I agree about the super powers/superior being thing being a reason not to do it…DM is so messed up, I won’t write it off totally.
Funny, I was thinking along your lines earlier too…about how some ppl only “wake up” when something bad happens to them. Esp in regards to disconnection…that policy is not secret…do they all really think it will never happen to them? I’m thinking they have to…for most of us we’d be outta there upon learning about that. It’s also like they can’t think oh, we don’t really do that…people seem to vanish w/out a trace on a daily basis in there. This stuff makes my head and heart hurt. SMH. I think I need to go to bed. lol

          • jazzlover

Here’s another thing to consider: do narcissists who think they’re superior to everyone else on the planet really stoop to committing suicide? I’d imagine that they’d see such an act as depriving the world of their greatness.

            • Frodis73

              Another good point.

            • jazzlover

Thank you. Of all those that have lead mass suicides to this point, I’d say (and I hate to say this) that Davey seems the least likely candidate. All the others seemed to have a deep, dark sense of brooding and loss of hope. None of them had the brazen, brash spark that this guy can’t seem to let go of. He actually believes he’s awesome. He runs the cherch like a disconnected Trump-like CEO. It’s a different vibe than the others.

            • Frodis73

Yes, he is very different from those other guys in that respect.

            • FredEX2

Yes, I agree…he’s more likely to be violatile & destructive to people around him, especially those he blames.

            • Juicer77

              🙁

          • noseinabk

Hit the nail on the head. The thing is, they knew disconnection was happing the entire time but cared more about themselves than others. I call bullshit on them trying to help others. That may have been a reason for some to join but the narcissism shown by the still in tell us the real reason . The indies are a perfect example of how these people have the backward notion that the navel gazing self study will do anything but drive them nuts and contribute nothing to saving the planet.

            • Frodis73

              yep!!

            • $137608073

Most still in are staying in because they are being blackmailed and/or are terrified of losing all contact with their family. While it’s true there’s a higher concentration left of the few remaining, especially with the greedy salesmen and some 2nd gen’s who know nothing else and have been raised to behave a certain way, the fact is that the majority Did go in wanting to help both themselves and others.

And if you know the science and nuances of undue influence, you will understand that it is that group dynamic, saving the planet crap that keeps them glued even though detrimental to themselves. It is only when it gets to that point when basic instincts to survive gets triggered that some will come out of their trance long enough to get out. Steve Hassan and Rick Ross and Professor Kent and many others have put a great deal of research and information out there to education the public.

Education = innoculation. I only speak up because these simplistic ridicules might thought stop others to not look any further, and so not education themselves on the subject. If they just believe these rumors of “Oh they’re all just narcissists”, who would bother any further?

I’ve known thousands personally over the span of 40 years now, plus you have the stories and testimonies of thousands more. You would have to completely Ignore 95% of the positive in order to come to your conclusion. That is called confirmation bias.

      • 0tessa

My guess is he will end up the same way as Hubbard, with only a few ‘helpers’ and his money somewhere safe.

    • daisy

I think he is evil enough to do murder, but it doesn’t service his position to actually do iit. Jim Jones , LRH had their brain skewered on drugs, they were delusional, he is not.

    • Narapoid

Even though most active Scientologists are in denial about having an “SP” running the cherch, I do not know that they would “end cycle”. I fear we may lose some as they realize they have thrown much of their life away on a scam.

But I don’t see a Jonestown. Hubbard? He could have pulled it off, but not Captain Miscavige.

    • jazzlover

My initial thought is that something like a mass suicide would be difficult to orchestrate because scientology is not inherently centralized like Jim Jones’ People’s Temple. Jones had all his followers with him every minute of every day.

      • FredEX2

I’m more concerned for certain individuals he blames for everything…some in his inner circle and even some critics he hates.

        • jazzlover

If we’re talking critics, that’s a whole other issue. That would obviously be a murder of a different color (as in mafia-like), and would complicate things immensely for them. I can, however, see DM pull the ultimate martyr move and off himself if things get too hot for him. Whether he’d decide to take a few with him, there’s really no way of telling.

        • Frodis73

I don’t see him taking any critics down. i can see him taking down his closest circle of ass kissers though…mabye, noseinbook made a great point below.

          • jazzlover

Right. Too obvious who the guilty party would be. That would just be plain stupid. I’d say that anyone who has spoken out very publicly at this point is automatically protected by that very publicity and the fact that they are known to a wider audience than ever. People would point fingers at scientology immediately.

            • Frodis73

Exactly, way too obvious. If the critics are in danger at all, I’d say it would be some fanatic public sci that feels threatened, but not DM.

            • jazzlover

Are there really rogues out there who feel a deep sense of loyalty to Miscavige? This would have to be a truly disturbed and delusional individual. (Hypnosis is the wild card that no one can predict, though)

            • Frodis73

I don’t think it would be necessarily out of loyalty to DM. More like in defense of the religion in general…that stuff happens with other faiths, why not sci? The sci public def feels the heat…throw in an unstable person that thinks such and such critic is exposing and threatening that faith…boom.

            • jazzlover

And also, don’t discount the hypnosis aspect. If they can hypnotize people into forking over tons of cash, the can hypnotize ’em to do anything else. And that’s the scenario that people should be worried about. Sci would get off scott-free in such a scenario, as the murderers wouldn’t know what hit them. I know, it’s an out there scenario, but I’m of the belief that: if you can conceive it, you can believe it 🙂

            • Frodis73

Lol, okay, now that one is out there. hypnotism doesn’t work like that from what I understand. it’s funny though.

            • jazzlover

I guess I have a pretty vivid imagination 🙂 I know there have been episodes of Criminal Minds, for instance, where people were mentored into serial killing. But, you’re right, a totally different thing.

            • noseinabk

Playing the us vs them card always works on the sheeple. A perfect example of how this is done: This pos used the anti Vax nuts to help fund his disgusting go fund me. He stated that he was being prosecuted not for his neglect but for not vaccinating his kids. The courts never mentioned vaccines but this duplicitous dad knew he could get support if he stated that.http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/news/david-stephan-collet-stephan-charged/
Now he is trying to blame the ambulance co. for not having the proper equitment to resuscitate his child who was to stiff to ride in a car seat when they took him to the naturopath the day before he stopped breathing and 2 wks after he became ill.

            • Ella Raitch

Furious! So protecting him against, what? Big pharma? They allow him to die.

Oh well, big pharma can’t get him now and he has been martyred to their cause.

I am no panic merchant when it comes to seeking medical care, and have been known to ‘give it 12 hours’, but when a toddler is unresponsive, to bloody stiff to sit in a car seat, or unable to take on fluids – you get to the damn doctor, hospital, whatever

            • Frodis73

Agreed…how could they watch their baby struggle to breath like that? then to stop eating AND drinking?? So sad and totally preventable.

            • noseinabk

Yep. My daughter was upset that the children’s hospital said they may need to do a lumbar puncture for menangitis if her blood test came back with indicators of infection. I told her, trust those Dr’s at A I Dupont as they are some of the best. Test results came back and they did not think that she needed further testing. Her fever was because of the hand foot and mouth virus a friends child had passed on. The point being, her child was sick and she relied on real science and real doctor’s to do what was best for her child.

            • Frodis73

I can’t imagine making any other choice…eating vitamins is as about as useful as walking in a circle 2x and clapping your hands…or touch assists. We are getting dumber every 10 years, I swear…we are going backwards in so many ways.

            • noseinabk

It amazes me that these nuts think that what people used 2000 yrs ago is better than real science.

            • Frodis73

Holy smokes, what a horrible story…that poor kid. yes, that guy is a total pos for both the scam and not taking the kid to a dr. I read a few stories and i see the whole family is in the health business. his dad invented some oil for bipolar based on something used on pigs. Wtf? smh. it’s 2016 people not 1716!!!

        • Anony-Lurker

Hitler blamed everyone, he even had the Brilliant Rommel commit suicide. Others took off but it seems that DM has an even stronger hold on the sea org minions. It can happen!

    • edge

I know it won’t be for the hardcore koolaid drinkers, but for those still in, give it a real thought. If he’s willing to stalk his own dad with Private Investigators and then smear his dad after being called out on it, what makes you think you’re safe? What makes you think you won’t be thrown under the bus? Dave doesn’t care about his wife, his dad, his niece, or sister. The only way he considers them is how their behavior reflects on him personally and his image. The only way Dave likes anyone is if they “flow him power particles”. If you don’t, at best, you don’t exist and at worst you get the Scientology wrath.

    • Anony-Lurker

I could see a localized mass suicide at Hemet. DM is getting cornered and would see no way out. Many living there would commit suicide in a show of solidarity and those not wanting to would be killed.
Hemet is very insulated, even from the rest of the Scientology world.

DM, being a sociopath wouldn’t really care what happens elsewhere. He would easily convince those at Hemet that they truly are the chosen to carry on Ron’s work and the time was right to drop their bodies.

      Scarey but plausible.

    Pssst…. Dateline NBC….

ABC’s got enough money to not give a shit. Between Walt Disney, ABC, ESPN, Star Wars, Marvel and whatever else they have under their umbrella they have enough coin and lawyers to not give a shit about Tom Cruise movies or the the cult’s threats.

      • Jimmy3

Hmm.. Did not know this… Apparently Aladdin was modeled after Tom Cruise

    • Frodis73

Trying to start a war between ABC and NBC eh? I like it!

Not sure if it was already mentioned down thread, but Scientology is trying to discredit RM with that picture of him in Nazi costume (looks a bit like Mel Brooks).
Maybe they should be reminded of their own penchant to dress up as Nazis.

A few of us have tried to share links to this info and are having comments removed – whether this is specifically editorial, or just a general moderation issue to do with off-site links, I couldn’t say

      • Jimmy3

What does it say next to the comment when you check it in your profile?

        • noseinabk

Mine and Roberts said Removed. Doesn’t matter since 99% of the comments at tmz thought it was photo shopped.
          .

          • Ella Raitch

Mine too – removed. I got 6 upvotes before this happened, so some people saw it, And agree – the comments there are so against what TMZ have done, it’s not worth worrying about.

Oh – and Lush was in the fray, too.

            • noseinabk

😕 I am in the minority that think that even though lush and espi deserved some deleted comments neither of them deserved a permanent ban.

            • Jimmy3

              With you 100%
When lush was banned, I was going to comment that the Bunker’s policy on punishment should be more like Passover in Roman Judaea… You know, like how Barrabas was freed…

So when media_lush was banned, the bunker mob could shout “WE WANT ESPI!!! WE WANT ESPI!!!”

But I didn’t because I worried people would think I was comparing lush to Jesus. And I really doubt Jesus would ever use a testicle-head shoop as an avatar on the Internet.

            • Jimmy3

And then we could vote lush back in when some schmuck of a troll gets banned, of course.

            • Ella Raitch

I like your story, but don’t think Espi would come back

              Lush on the other hand…..

            • noseinabk

Koki and cat deserved it. Media and espi and Robert are legitimate commentators. Lush and espi may have overstepped but deserve to have been reprimanded and nothing more. I am no longer comfortable about posting my real opinion because of this bs. What we post in the comments should be free from TO,s opinion as he is not conding what we post and only allowing open conversation. If lush wants to post bs tabloid crap, who cares. It is only a bit of fun that any real follower will see it for what it is.

            • Cedilla

Espi was reprimanded but continued to threaten someone with very sharp knives.

            • noseinabk

Yes he was way out of line and not listening to us tell him to dial it back. Richard was accepting and forgiving of the trolling that many of us received when first posting. It does not negate the fact that espi was knowledgeable and proficient in dealing with cult trolls.

            • Douglas D. Douglas

As I see it, no one here has been banned on the basis of their opinion. It is in the way it is expressed.

            • Frodis73

I don’t know Jimmy…Jesus might dig that look…you can never tell about these things. 😉 It’s probably just me tho cos the mental image makes me chuckle.

            • Robert Eckert

Some boards carefully distinguish between banning an account (as a rap on the knuckles, but permitting a rejoin under a new ID) and banning a person (delete on sight if new sock is recognized). Norman/FLUNK/Ziontologist was certainly banned as a person (Tony always re-bans when he comes back) while CatDaddy wasn’t (he would come back, and would be allowed as long as he behaved– which generally wasn’t too long). It is not really clear in the Espi or Lush cases: but Espi has expressed over at Rinder’s that he feels rather bitter about it, so the issue is probably moot in his case.

            • noseinabk

I’m a little bitter about it . Why do a few people get to dictate what we say here? I may be well on my way to being banned by saying that banning you was one of the reasons I became uncomfortable here.

            • Frodis73

I do miss both of them I have to admit. The one thing I will say is I wonder why that JeffCigar/Lifter/JewishJeff hasn’t been tossed on his ass yet. Though he may finally have been as he hasn’t been around in quite a few hours. TO usually announces when he bans somebody though…on the other hand, he is visiting family and deserves a break from everything for a bit.

            • Robert Eckert

Jeff was taking advantage of Tony’s busy schedule: he started posting rapid-fire when Tony was sitting down for an interview with Alison and wouldn’t be around for a couple hours, for example. Tony does, somehow, manage to read just about every post here (although I expect the 20/20 live-blog surpassed his ability to keep up) but he cannot respond to dramas instantly, always.

            • Frodis73

I didn’t even think about him taking advantage when tony was taping. Super dick!! i knew that TO was with family and he deserves a break from us and his blog more than he takes. I don’t know how he deals with all of us honestly. lol

            • Cedilla

I find Tony to be extremely patient before he bans someone.

            • Frodis73

Yes…and he did give warnings which is why I was okay with what he decided.

            • Juicer77

I’m not sure how to feel. But thank goodness for people who do voice different opinions here, like yourself.

            • Robert Eckert

It’s Tony’s place, and nobody has any right to be here if Tony doesn’t want that person here. Tony never banned me: he just expressed anger that I took as meaning he didn’t want me here, so I quietly left, not wanting any uproar; when uproar happened anyway, Tony had some negative things to say about me (which I won’t argue about here; I did send an e-mail to those I had had some off-Bunker contact with explaining my side) but indicated he’d never intended to force me to leave.

            • noseinabk

Much respect Robert for the integrity and honesty you post. I know by now when you have an idea or viewpoint stuck In your head vs. when you are spitballing ideas just like the rest of us. We should be able to post whatever we want as long as we are not making personal attacks. To be banned for arguing with the proprietor on any point provokes the rebel in me.
And… Robert you were right. 😊

            • Robert Eckert

Tony uses the banhammer much more rarely than the proprietors of other websites, and usually as you say for reasons of personal attacks, although being ultra-annoying (koki, CatDaddy, MediaLush) can also do it.

            • Ella Raitch

Who’s to say the ban is permanent?

            • Frodis73

Glad to hear he showed up…was looking for him last night over there.

            • Ella Raitch

I should’ve replied to him but of course who had time to think yesterday!

      • Ben Franklin

TMZ does not allow any attachments or off-site links in the comments section. TMZ has one of the most censured comments section than any other site that I know of. Some comments are deleted right away if certain words are found within it.

        • Ella Raitch

I figured that was the case

    • FredEX2

      Looks photoshopped?

      • sizzle8

        It’s not.

        Here’s another.

      • Ella Raitch

        This actually happened

      • Frodis73

Ha, no, this actually happened…yes, they went there.

      Good one, Tory.

      • Vaquera

        New hashtag: #RuthlessTuesday

Pan shout out – Can we get some re-lyrics for the Stones’ Ruby Tuesday?

      • Mockingbird

David Miscavige has been ruthless for years.

        • Vaquera

More toothless with each passing month.

I remember hearing that Jamie DeWolf is making a film, with some of his family members in it. I wonder when that bolt of lightning will strike the double cross at the Super Power building? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciupsqkLLkQ Here he is as I first saw him.

That’s more people innoculated against acquiring the plague of Scientology than those who got their flu shot this year!

Tks Ella – reposted to Sunday’s thread. Most excellent news.

  • Mockingbird

To help Monique Yingling have her star rise I posted the video of Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun discussing her participation in the conspiracy to kidnap two Scientologists at the direction of murderer and Scientology cult leader David Miscavige. Now remember OSA David Miscavige leader of the Scientology cult is a murderer and guilty of many other crimes. We can zero in on evidence of specific crimes with different victims. I posted this in about twenty Facebook groups for you. No need to thank me.

Billboard fund is up to $20,000…
    🙂❤️🙂

    • LOL Monique Yingling donated!

  • Linda Clement

Five minutes of Monique is enough to make Tommy Davis seem cute and cuddly.

I don’t think Monique has a thetan. Unless it previously belonged to a tyrannosaurus.

    Edited for spelling.

    • Ella Raitch

Maybe Tommy was her shadow baby….

  • Baby

OMG.. Laying in bed.. trying to sleep.. and then I thought..

Shit.. DAVID ALLOW ME TO BLOW OUT YOUR BIRTHDAY CANDLES.. WHAT was I thinking.. 1-2 -3 f5

    • Cedilla

      Let’s call him.
I love singing the Hill sister’s “Happy Birthday” song.

      • Baby

Last time I heard he couldn’t reach his cell phone Cedilla.. it was placed on the table..

I give..Who are the HIll sisters?

        • Cedilla

The sisters who initiated the song’s music.

          • Baby

OMG hahahhaha I had a brain fart..

        • Cedilla

” it was placed on the table.”

At least when he reaches for his cell, his PI’s won’t mistake it for a heart atack

          • I wonder… If Miscavgie showed symptoms of a heart attack when his bodyguards were not present, what would the Scientologists around him do?

            It’s possible that:

            1) They wouldn’t dare do anything in the absence of orders and, even if he could speak, he would not know what to tell them to do.
            2) He would scream abuse at them and SPs in general, for hurting him and, again, nothing effective would get done.
            3) Someone would fetch an e-meter for emergency auditing
            4) Those present would make themselves scarce, thinking, “If I try to help and he survives, I will likely be punished whatever I do. If he dies, my life will improve. Let the Big Being heal himself”.

This is how dictators die. Surrounded by people who fear them, but don’t care for them.

          • Baby

            OOOOOOh good BURN there Ced..

Sing away, it’s now Public Domain.

  • Lady Squash

I was watching the show with non-Scientology friends and they saw right through Yingling. Did anyone buy her story? Workers Paradise? Doesn’t Yingling know that that is language of the Communist Party? Good grief. ABC did a good job but I’m wondering why they didn’t get a picture of the fence at Gold showing the spikes. Anyone know.

    • Baby

      f5

      • Lady Squash

        Exactly!

      • And I’m Cute, Too

That’s exactly what occurred to me when I saw all those gushing tributes for the Tiny Tyrant on 20/20. They might as well have been calling him “Dear Leader”. Heartbreaking dismay.

        • Tracy Schmitz

i want to know if all those gushing tributes if these people were actually scientologist or paid actors?!

    • Linda Clement

Does anyone know for sure that the fence is still there? Might it have been removed because of its bad PR?

Has the Church ever allowed press on that compound?

    • Juicer77

I think you should make your non-friends into real friends. 😉

      • Cedilla

        🙂

      • Lady Squash

OMG. I just realized I said “non-friends”. That’s supposed to be “non-Scientology friends”. (Blushing with embarrassment)

        • Juicer77

No, we all got the point, and it was lulzy! 😉 I luvs me some typos.
